The Nepal Telecom (NT) has proposed a budget of Rs. 62.36 billion for the fiscal year 2012/13.
Organising a press conference in the capital on Tuesday, the
company said that it has targeted to earn a gross income of Rs. 36
billion during the current fiscal year while its income stood at Rs.
33.77 billion in the previous year. Of the 62.36 billion, Rs 15.11
billion has been earmarked for expansion of the telephone lines.
Likewise, the company has also aimed to contribute Rs.19.06
billion in revenue to the government this fiscal year while it had
contributed around Rs. 18.07 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year.
Managing Director of NT Amar Nath Singh said the company was
committed to upgrading quality of services along with expansion of its
services ahead.
The company aims to expand the WIMAX services for expanding the Broadband Network to remote rural areas, said Singh.
Similarly, the company also plans to distribute around
1.551,639 telephone lines including landline, GSM mobile and CDMA
during the current fiscal year while it had distributed some 1,310,653
telephone lines last fiscal year.
Likewise, the Telecom has a target to expand 50,000 lines of
WIMAX services in Kathmandu and Butwal by the end of the fiscal year.
